Some of the Best French Casinos on the Riviera

When you think of European casinos perhaps you think of style, glamour and an air of sophistication well that’s what we at onlinecasinoplayer.org expect.  Unfortunately this is not entirely true and all along the south coast of the French Riviera you’ll find some pretty depressing casinos without much atmosphere.  Here though is a selection of some of the most popular places to start your French casino tour and don’t forget to practice on our free casino game to make sure you’re up to speed.

1) Le Croisette Casino Barriere de Cannes

le-casino-france

You’ll find this modern casino in Cannes, right in front of the Palais des Festivals on the beach.   It’s a fairly good casino but perhaps lacking a little on gaming tables, certainly if you’re used to Las Vegas or from the Far East.  You’ll find everything very clean and tidy but perhaps lacking a little in style and atmosphere.

For slot machines you’ll be spoilt for choice but for those looking for a little glamour (after all you are in Cannes) then you’d perhaps be better looking elsewhere.

2) Palm Beach Casino

For views the Palm Beach in Cannes has one of the best, in fact you can actually sit and see the beach from the gaming tables. In the Summer they sometimes move a few of the tables outside as well, a very nice location to while a way a few hours with views of the islands on the peninsula.

There are most of the main casino games however like many French casinos there seems to be an awful lot of slot machines.  I don’t mind a few but they can be very depressing especially in an empty rooms, which the Palm Beach tends to be a lot of the time.

The atmosphere can be good though at the busier  times as it does have some of that aged style which I think adds to the glamour.

3) Casino de Beaulieu

Situated on the promenade of Beaulieu-sur-Mer the Casino de Beaulieu is a beautiful building with sea views.  It has been recently renovated and only just reopened, you should enjoy the interior too with it’s grand staircase and huge chandeliers.

The casino has some of that elegance and style that is expected in a French Casino.  The staff are very attentive and professional, all seeking to ensure guests have a pleasant evening.

Definitely worth travelling away from Cannes for a little style, although the temptation of Monaco is only a few miles further down the coast.

4) Casino Barriere de Menton

Just along the waterfront promenade in the town of Menton, you’ll find the Casino Barriere de Menton.  It’s opposite a stretch of beautiful gardens with some stunning plants and fauna.

As with many French casinos you need to time your visits as they can often be rather quiet and lacking in atmosphere.

The restaurant overlooks the beach and has a good reputation locally however you should check review sites as well.

I love the Palm beach in Cannes, it’s true they do move some of the tables outside in the Summer. It’s a great place to play.
